ASDA WORKER COMES TO DISTRESSED MUM'S RESCUE AFTER KEYLESS CAR ISSUE LEAVES HER STRANDED

An Asda worker proved that not all heroes wear capes when he spotted a shopper in distress after she'd paid for her groceries. Bradley, 24, was supposed to have been going on a break but instead he leapt into action and came to the customer's aid. She explained that her car's keyless technology had meant she was able to drive to the supermarket in Parkgate, Rotherham, but as she didn't have her keys on her, she couldn't drive home.

And so Bradley went the extra mile in customer service by giving her a lift to her house to drop off her shopping at home and pick up her key, then took her back to the store.

He told Express.co.uk: "I'd just served the lady on the till and as I was going for my break I saw her again and she looked rather worried.

"She told me that her car was a keyless one and she'd left her keys at home by mistake."

He added: "The car had obviously detected her keys were nearby - she said they must have been in her jacket pocket hung up in the house.

"She got down here to the store okay but then when she got to leave with her shopping she realised she hadn't got her key on her so the car wouldn't start.

"She tried to get hold of her son but couldn't, so I said I'd take her home for the keys, it wasn't far about 10 minutes away.

"It was no problem. She was very grateful and kept thanking me all the time as we drove back to the store.

"I'll always try to help anyone that I can. I'm always that person who's in a good mood."

Bradley was too much of a gentleman to ask the woman her age but thinks she was probably in her early 60s.

Store manager Stacey nominated Bradley for an Asda service superstar award for his kindness. She said: "The lady was really complimentary of the service Bradley had given to her.

"Bradley is a very kind guy and will do anything for anyone.

"He will also go out of his work to help customers - as will all our colleagues here."

He has worked at the supermarket for four years and has now gained a lot of fans online after Asda tweeted brief details about what happened.

The Cotton Mill Pub in Newcastle-under-Lyme wrote: "Bradley... Rotherham is a long way from Newcastle Under Lyme, but if you are ever in the area... come see us as we would like to offer you and a guest a meal and drinks on us."

FyldeCal tweeted: "What a legend!" and Townley147 tweeted: "Great job, mate".
